Riverdale Global's innovative business model has global reach with local satellite supply and service.
Liquid color produces fully developed color with less pigment than Concentrate. Pigment locked inside a pellet can not disperse until material is fully melted. In contrast, color pigment predispersed in liquid rapidly coats all pellets on contact long before melting begins. Final dispersion is more complete, achieving full color strength with less pigment. Liquid color's superior dispersion requires less pigment, often 30% less than Concentrate. Let down ratios are lower. Your bottom line is improved.
SHORTER PURGE TIME
Liquid color has been shown to purge a previous color more rapidly than concentrate. Inherent cleaning action purges previous color resin more quickly and more completely.
IMPROVED CYCLE TIME
Liquid often allows shorter cycle times, improving production rates through reduced melt temperatures and shorter cooling times.
Riverdale's proprietary HI-FLO carrier systems reduce process energy cost three ways:
Overall energy savings as high as 16% have been documented.
- Lower extrusion torque and amp load.
- Lower heat profile.
- Lower cooling demand
REDUCED WAREHOUSE SPACE
Liquid color takes less space on your plant floor, on average 1/5 the space of concentrate for the same coloring requirements, saving space in your warehouse and beside-the-press.
Riverdale Global delivery systems provide accurate, precise, gravimetric metering, always assuring correct let down ratios. Quality is assured. Color is never wasted. Compared to traditional volumetric systems, gravimetric metering will almost always reduce color usage by 10 percent. Volumetric systems are often NOT set up correctly. With gravimetric, operator setting errors are eliminated. Savings can be substantial.
Customers will now use 100% of what they buy. Riverdale Global's Return for Refill policy assures that any residual color left in the drum is not lost, but is returned with the refill of the drum. 100% usage means savings of 1% to 3% of color costs. The concern, labor, and potential mess of trying to retrieve every last drop is eliminated. Even concentrate users may lose some color with each drum or Gaylord.
All delivery equipment is supplied and maintained by Riverdale Global, eliminating your investment in capital equipment. Equipment designed, manufactured and backed by Maguire Products, is simple, reliable, and easy to use.
SEALED COLOR SYSTEM
Riverdale Global's exclusive Sealed Color System assures the cleanest possible
operation, eliminating the clean up often
present with conventional deliver systems.
You save on labor and maintain a clean workplace.
PUMP IN A DRUM
All color is delivered in containers with our revolutionary PIAD pump built in. There is no need for you to own or maintain pumps, saving you capital equipment costs and maintenance costs.
ZERO LANDFILL - ZERO WASTE
Drums never end up in a local landfill. You are one step closer to achieving your goal of "Zero waste." Customers served by our Satellite have returns (for refill) picked up by our company truck, at no charge. Even cardboard Gaylords associated with concentrate are difficult to re- cycle. We help you reduce your disposal costs, help the environment, and help your local landfill.
For our international customers, Riverdale's SINGLE SOURCE PIGMENTS assure uniform, identical color matching for customers molding product on all continents. Colors sold throughout the world are blended using SPDs produced and milled ONLY at Riverdale's Perth Amboy, New Jersey, facility. Single source pigments assure that colors approved in one country, but supplied in another, will be made from the same pigments no matter where they are used, assuring uniform color worldwide.
With Concentrate, pellets must first melt. Only then can the pigment be dispersed by the mixing action of the screw. In contrast, pigment dispersed in liquid rapidly coats all pellets immediately upon entering the barrel, long before the pellets melt. Dispersion is more complete allowing full color develop- ment with less pigment. Riverdale's SPD system employs milling to break down and disperse pigments, surrounding the particles with liquid. This results in better dispersion and improved product quality.
Liquid color can be blended with the additives you require, such as UV stabilizer, blowing agents, slip agents, and anti-stats. Additives metered alone are not visually detectable leaving you no indication if your product was made without the required additive. When pre-blended with color, you are visually assured the additive is in there.
LOCAL SUPPLY/LOCAL SERVICE
Your supplier is your neighbor. Nearby service means you have support and emergency supply when you need it.
We can provide precise tracking of all materials, from original SPD dispersions, through the blending process, all the way to your finished product when the color is consumed. Tracking allows accountability, as well as helping automated inventory control and supply procedures.
In the chemical business for over 100 years, Riverdale has been a supplier of liquid color to the plastics industry for more than 45 years, longer than any other liquid color company. These years of experience are why, in side by side trials, Riverdale consistently out performs competitors in both color matching and product performance.
Equipment is designed, manufactured, and supported by MAGUIRE PRODUCTS, Inc. exclusively for Riverdale Global, LLC. Maguire's reputation for reliability, performance, quality and service is your assurance that your delivery system is the best available.
